Eye Redness

Red eyes occur when blood vessels in the eye are irritated or inflamed, and isn't always serious. Irritation, allergies, and medications are the most common causes, and it normally goes away on its own. If your red eye is accompanied with severe pain or headaches, vision changes, or similar symptoms, seek emergency care.
